In this oral history interview, Dr. Ramsey discusses her overarching vision for establishing special collections for Women’s and Gender Studies Program (WGST) at Atkins Library. As a preserver of history, she has contributed richly to encapsulating 40 years of WGST history at UNC Charlotte by leading and spearheading this work. r. Ramsey discusses her commitment to women’s studies and gender studies by emphasizing the need for advancing scholarship and providing ample opportunities for women of all races. She discusses her formidable leadership of the program as it celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024, how she brought about the inaugural Carver and Cloninger Oral History Fellowship and Essay Contest, as well as subsequent conference presentation at WGS South, and Documentary.
