Description

Dolon Wilson Corbett recalls his family's history in Ophir, Montgomery County, North Carolina, and how his family made their living by farming and working in a saw mill. Mr. Corbett discusses memories from growing up at the family home where he still lived at the time of the interview, visiting the nearest town, Troy, communal farming practices such as slaughtering hogs, starting work as a bagboy at Kroger, and the rural character of the county. He also mentions running for county commissioner and how, if elected, he would emphasize bringing more industry into the region.
