Description
Community organizer and activist Louise Sellers recounts growing up in eastern North Carolina while spending summers in Charlotte, North Carolina, the history of her family dating back to the antebellum period, and her diverse European, African, and Native American ancestry. She focuses on discussing her involvement from the 1970s through the time of interview in many community organizations in Charlotte that helped to clean up run-down neighborhoods, create low income housing, and support small businesses. Most notably, she describes her roles as president of the Biddleville-Five Points Community Organization, co-founder of the West Charlotte Business Incubator, and director of the West Charlotte Fest. Ms. Sellers also discusses her parents, her children, and her first and second marriages.
