Biographical/Historical Note
Gay Porter was interviewed at the Charlotte School of Ballet in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was trained in ballet in London, England at the Arts Educational School and founded the Charlotte School of Ballet in 1968 and the Charlotte Youth Ballet. She was employed as a ballet dancer in England, Spain, France, Germany, and the United States, as a ballet teacher, and as a director, choreographer, and creator of ballets.
