Description

Lois Moore Yandle recounts her memories of growing up in the Highland Park Manufacturing Company No. 3 Mill community during the early twentieth century, located in the North Charlotte neighborhood (now known as NoDa) in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mrs. Yandle recalls the local mill baseball team, mill strikes during the 1930s, visiting on the front porch with friends and relatives, and how her family and the greater mill community supported each other during the Great Depression.
