Description

Glenda Wertheimer discusses her experience as an immigrant from Guatemala who eventually moved to Davidson, North Carolina. She recalls living in New Jersey and the different jobs she held before her marriage. Ms. Werthemeir talks about the circumstances motivating emigration to the United States. She talks about her wish to return to Guatemala and details the obstacles to realize this. Another major topic discussed are differences between living in the United States and Latin American countries such as Guatemala. Lastly, Ms. Werthemeir discusses the differences that she has perceived between Latino children's experiences in the U.S. who are new to the country and that of their parents.
