She talks about how she is fond of North Carolina and feels welcomed. Mrs. Singleton speaks on the differences of culture, values, and social conditions between Mexico and the United States. Another topic discussed is migrant workers and how she thinks the aftermath of 9/11 will make the immigrant experience more difficult.

Biographical/Historical Note
Olivia Singleton was a 26-year-old woman at the time of interview, which took place at her home in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born in Mexico City in 1975. She studied international marketing and advertising at Universidad Intercontinental and Centro de Estudio en Ciencias de la Comunicación in Mexico City, and was employed as a teacher and as an interpreter of the court.
