Jasper Barber was a 61-year-old man at the time of interview, which took place in Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Plastics Division in Union County, North Carolina. He was born in Kings Mountain, North Carolina in 1932. He finished high school, and was employed with Charlotte Pipe and Foundry as a machinist, foreman, and manager of Production Tool Services.
