Terry Holland and Emil Parker talk about the rise of basketball at Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina. Mr. Holland discusses playing on the Davidson team while "Lefty" Driesell was coach during the 1960s, and describes how Coach Driesell made Davidson more attractive for talented players. Mr. Parker shares his memories of Davidson College basketball while the program was growing through his role as Sports Information Director at Davidson and as a sports reporter for the Charlotte Observer. Other topics discussed include college basketball teams and tournaments and the impact that Davidson basketball had on the culture of the Charlotte region.

Biographical/Historical Note
Terry Holland was born in Clinton, North Carolina in 1942. He was educated at Davidson College and was employed as head coach of the Davidson College basketball team.Emil Parker was born in 1939. He was educated at Lenoir-Rhyne University and was employed as the Sports Information Director at Davidson College and as a sports writer for newspapers including the Charlotte Observer.
