UNC Charlotte alumnus John Gaither discusses the evolution of the university's basketball program during his years as student body president in the 1960s. Topics discussed include UNC Charlotte's involvement in the Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Association conference, racial discrimation members of the team faced, and basketball tournaments the school participated in. John Gaither also talks about his experiences as a cheerleader at Central High School for the school's basketball and football teams.
