Description
Melvin Graham, the younger brother of Billy Graham, recounts their childhood in Charlotte, North Carolina and how Rev. Graham became involved in the church. Melvin Graham discusses life on the dairy farm growing up and how the family grew increasingly religious after Mordecai F. Ham held a lengthy revival in town. At this revival, Billy Graham converted to evangelical Christianity. Melvin proposes that the M.F. Ham revival was what sparked Billy Graham's passion for ministry and it led him to seek guidance from other religious figures in the community. Melvin Graham described how one of those figures, Bill Henderson, played a major role in Billy Graham's religious development. Melvin Graham also recounts Billy Graham's attitude towards traditional education as well as his pursuit of studies at a Bible school in Florida. Melvin Graham then recounts the crusades that he attended in Charlotte, including the locations, turnout, and preaching during the crusades. Melvin Graham also recounts Billy Graham pulling pranks as a child as well as his interest in animals.
