Description

Charlotte businessman T. R. Lawing talks about his involvement in the Billy Graham Crusade in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1958. He shares his experience of singing in the crusade choir with his wife, and describes his lifelong involvement in singing in school and church choirs. He also talks about how at the time of the crusade, he was starting a real estate company and raising three young children with his wife.

Thomas R. Lawing Sr. was a 68-year-old man at the time of the interview, which took place at the Levine Museum of the New South in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born in Charlotte in 1927. He graduated from Central High School and earned a B.S. degree at NC State University, and was employed as a realtor and founder of T.R. Lawing Realty, Inc.
