Harold Smith recounts his experiences as a member of the motorsports community of Virginia. He discusses his work as a auto mechanic and drag racer for William Mason's organization during the 1960s and 1970s. Mr. Smith recounts building and operating a drag racing strip, Lakeview Drag Strip, on his property with friends, which opened in 1958. Other topics touched on in the interview include Mr. Smith's time as an Airman during the Korean War as well as his time as a bootlegger, both making and transporting moonshine.
