Rick Conboy was Associate Professor Emeritus of Management at UNC Charlotte and 68 years old at the time of this interview. He was born in Norfolk VA, and received his B.S. from Old Dominion University, and his M.B.A. and Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic. He joined the Belk College faculty in 1979. Dr. Conboy was named assistant dean in 1983 and was promoted to associate dean of the Belk College in 1987, holding that position until 2004. He served as interim associate dean for International Programs in 2004-2005 and again from 2010-2012. His primary area of teaching was strategic management. His research interests were issues related to the management of schools of business, including strategic planning and management of accreditation. Lou Trosch was Professor Emeritus of Business Law at UNC Charlotte and 81 years old at the time of this interview. He joined the UNC Charlotte faculty in 1969. He received his B.S. From Bethany College, his M.A. From George Washington University, and J.D. from West Virginia University. Dr. Trosch taught undergraduate business law. His research interests included North Carolina Real Estate Commission rules concerning agency and sub-agency law and how they relate to real estate agents, employment discrimination law related to tenure, and age and gender discrimination in higher education. He is a past recipient of the Bank of America Award for Excellence in Teaching. He is currently managing partner of the Charlotte law firm, Conrad Trosch & Kemmy.
