Description

An interview with Melvin Watkins, head basketball coach at UNC Charlotte. He was a student at UNC Charlotte in the 1970s, and playing basketball as a student, then coming back to be head coach is very unique. He says that his education prepared him for his career, but a large part of preparation for his career came from the community and the people he interacted with during his college experience. He describes how he wants his players to be well rounded individuals, and is excited to see freshmen develop skills as they continue through college. Goals for the men's basketball team going forward are to join the list of top 20 teams in the country and continue to compete at the highest level.
