Description

Harvey Gantt gives a campaign speech at the Fayetteville Democratic Headquarters. He is introduced by Sheriff of Cumberland County "Moose" Butler. Gantt thanks the Democratic Party and encourages attendees to go out and vote for Democrats. Gantt talks about main tenets of his campaign including early childhood education (Head Start), affordable college education, student loans, job security (minimum wage, pensions), health insurance, caring for the elderly (Social Security). Gantt states that he is willing to tackle the real problems, but Jesse Helms is not even campaigning. Gantt concludes with more encouragement for people to go out and vote on election day.
