Description

Harvey Gantt is interviewed by Jim Morrill and an unknown interviewer with the Charotte Observer over the phone. The conversation focuses on governmental subsidies to businesses and industry, and how Gantt would like to investigate the value of these programs further if elected to Senate. Gantt generally favors programs that help small businesses and add value, but not programs that benefit large corporations that don't need it. He provides examples of subsidies to Pillsbury and Ernest and Julio Gallo as programs that he would investigate. The second interviewer asks Gantt about specific bills that Jesse Helms introduced to benefit corporations in North Carolina, including Glaxo Wellcome.
