Catherine Graham McElroy, Billy Graham's sister, discusses their childhood in the 1920-1930s and Billy Graham's early years as a minister and evangelist. The Graham kids grew up on a farm on Park Road in Charlotte, North Carolina, which had corn, alfalfa, vegetables, goats, dogs, and cows. Billy Graham and his brother would milk the cows every day and sell the milk. Ms. McElroy talks about her parents' religiosity, how her mother would read from her Bible every day and how her father would pray, and the different traveling evangelical preachers in their life, including Jimmy Johnson, who Billy Graham wanted to be like. Some boys that Billy Graham would play baseball with took him to his first Ham-Ramsey meeting, a revival with Mordecai F. Ham and William J. Ramsay. She also discusses Rev. Graham's first revival that he held in Charlotte at the First Baptist Church, hearing his first radio program, "Songs in the Night," having tea with the Nixons, and how the family adjusted to their newfound fame.
