Macon Stewart was a 42-year-old woman at the time of interview, which took place virtually on the Zoom meeting platform in Salisbury and Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was educated at UNC Charlotte, where she studied Criminal Justice and Social Work, and at the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her Masters in Social Work. She was employed at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy, where she worked in policy and program development for juvenile justice.
