John Cunningham served as the first chair of the Mayor's Community Relations Committee, and was succeeded by Warner L. Hall, senior minister of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, in 1965. Jack L. Bullard was hired as the committee's first executive director in 1968. Includes content relating to the 1965 bombings of the homes of prominent black Charlotteans Fred Alexander, Kelly Alexander, Sr., Reginald Hawkins, and Julius Chambers.
