The 2006 NASCAR Hall of Fame announcement event was held on March 6, 2006, in Charlotte, North Carolina. This event was to announce Charlotte, North Carolina, as the future site of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. In attendance was NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick, CEO and chairman of NASCAR Brian France, and Pat McCrory, mayor of Charlotte.
