The three sub-collections in this collection document different aspects--pre-race media events, race events, and trailer events--of the 2004 UAW-GM Quality 500, a NASCAR Nextel Cup Series event held at Charlotte Motor Speedway on October 4-14, 2004, in Concord, North Carolina. The pre-race media events included a Speedway Children's Charities and Victory Junction Gang Camp event. The race events images are from the NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Cup Series events during the 2004 UAW-GM Quality 500 race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Jimmie Johnson won the UAW-GM 500 by 1.727 seconds over teammate Jeff Gordon. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch, and Joe Nemechek were the other top-five finishers. Ryan Newman won the pole with a speed of 188.877 mph. Mike Bliss won the NASCAR Busch Series event by 0.338 seconds over Matt Kenseth. Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle, and Kyle Busch rounded out the top five for that event.
