Finishing first--his final win in the NASCAR Cup Series--was LeeRoy Yarbrough. Other top-ten finishers were Bobby Allison, Fred Lorenzen, Benny Parsons, Bobby Isaac, Elmo Langley, Bill Champion, Buddy Arrington, Roy Mayne, and Friday Hassler. Marty Robbins, who can be seen playing his guitar in several images in the collection, finished in thirty-second place. Cale Yarborough finished last in the race after a crash with the wall. An unusually lengthy race with numerous crashes and lead changes, the 1970 National 500 lasted nearly four hours.
